This portfolio serves as both a comprehensive record of my design work as well as providing a glimpse into my character, ethos and purpose. It represents an on-going theme in my approach to design thinking and displays solutions I’ve created to solve the problems and needs we all have as people and consumers.

Design consultancy is currently serving a dual purpose for both me and my clients. The learnings and knowledge I have gained from my design career thus far have been from a variety of diverse business sectors and from a variety of different sized companies. This diversity allows me to give my clients new perspectives on their products, while I follow traditional design thinking techniques. For me, working with an assortment of clients is teaching me the nuances between contrasting users' needs and how to adapt my designs fluidly based on their independent requirements. This duality is a key driving force for the direction of my design path and keeps me engaged and excited for the work I undertake. As I become more senior and a design lead, my goal is to condense the insights I have gained thus far to channel them into a lead product role that I truly believe in.

I am a designer who also specialises in multi-sensory experiential products. I have sculpted a path towards better understanding users, their unique requirements and how to engineer products that are more accessible, sensorial and interactive. I have designed and delivered across the sensory spectrum, creating products that can be simultaneously felt, heard, smelt and seen. This exploration redefined my understanding of what creates an engaging product and how exactly users interact with the world and interfaces before them. My products have always been founded on research. By using a combination of techniques such as user interviews, journeys analysis and testing I have built a fundamental understanding of the project's goal.

Focus areas and Specialisations

Start-up product development

Much of my recent work has focused on helping start-ups take concepts from ideation to market. On top of enjoying the atmosphere and creative freedom start-ups allow, leading the design process excites and fulfils me. The MVP created from the user research, workshops with stakeholders and agile user testing are essential in seeing a product achieve its primary goals. With solid, constructive teamwork and design thinking, the MVP can be used as a foundation to keep developing and improving the product.

Customer facing industries B2C

A commonality I see throughout my most enjoyed projects and contracts is where I get to interact with customers the most. The process of researching, interviewing and testing with the users who will benefit from my improved designs completes my satisfaction loop which is common with the design process. The foundation of user experience design is that it is user focused and led, this step can sometimes be overlooked with bigger B2B solutions. I enjoy ideating with stakeholders as I lead workshops to extrapolate the useful information from user insights. The B2C business model spreads across all sectors and so I am able to stay flexible with clients while knowing my strengths.

Fintech, Big data and AI

With nearly three years at LSEG, a global leader in data analytics, I’ve developed a deep understanding of large data models and transforming complex datasets into intuitive user experiences. I’ve designed both internal systems to enhance data product delivery and customer-facing dashboards that make insights more accessible. My expertise in simplifying complexity has been key to leading teams and driving impactful UX solutions.

Hobbies & Interests

Sound

My lifelong passion for music led me to develop the Haptic BOOM chair. With a focus on accessibility and inclusivity, I wanted to deliver the multisensory, pre-lockdown experience of going to concerts and gigs to the home allowing the user to hear and feel the music. To further expand my understanding of audio technology, I completed the following modules ‘Introduction to Digital Audio’, ‘Music and Audio Programming’ and ‘Sound Recording and Production Techniques’ where I became proficient using Logic Pro X and other techniques to create music.

Art

Before I discovered design, my passion was fine art - a skill which I developed throughout my school years. I continue to paint and sculpt. Creating and developing art serves as a therapeutic tool in life helping me express complex ideas and opinions. Through visiting art galleries and museums I find I can learn so much from understanding an artist’s or designers work and creative process. As I continue on my path in user-led product design, I strive to constantly engage with the beauty and the art in the world around me.

Cooking

Making food has always been a passion of mine. I was originally taught by my mother who is a Chef and then travelled to France to receive formal training. After this, I worked at numerous events and at a boutique cafe in Notting Hill, West London. Although I ultimately decided not to pursue a career as a professional chef, I continue exploring food, the culture of food and a wide variety of cuisines and techniques used to create delicious, avant-garde cuisines.
